The Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) was chartered by the American Chemical Society (ACS) to address the specific needs of younger and early-career chemists. The YCC addresses specific issues facing younger chemists within the ACS and serves as a voice to the Society on behalf of younger chemists. The YCC’s vision is to lead younger chemists into successful careers and active roles in the ACS and the profession. Details: As a young chemistry professional in a volatile industry it is especially important to secure your financial future. Michelle will first elaborate on how to ensure your financial well-being is not derailed by negative financial events such as a job loss. She will then segue into retirement planning basics - how to save for it, sources of retirement income, the importance of tax diversification in retirement, and how to ensure that you don\’t outlive your money.
