Sean earned a B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. As a graduate student, Sean created heparin nanoparticles that were later shown to regrow functional brain tissue after stroke in a mouse model – the first instance of such an occurrence. He has worked in many aspects of the biopharma business including research and development, product development, process development, analytical development, manufacturing, quality, and business development. In these roles, he participated in projects that cover a wide range of therapeutic modalities including monoclonal antibodies, plasma-derived protein therapeutics, cell/tissue therapy, DNA sequencing, immunotherapy, diagnostics, brain biosensors, and skin care. Currently, Sean is an application engineer for the biopharma business unit of the separation and purification division of 3M, covering southern California client biotech companies.
