Description of Company
Point Loma Nazarene University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university in the Wesleyan tradition. We also offer a number of pre-professional programs such as nursing, dietetics, and applied health science. The campus is located on the narrow Point Loma peninsula that separates the San Diego Bay and Pacific Ocean. There are approximately 2400 undergraduates enrolled at the university, most of whom reside on campus. The college was founded in 1902 and in 1973 moved from Pasadena to its current location.
The Department of Chemistry has six full-time faculty members, a strong commitment to quality teaching, and a longstanding tradition of undergraduate research, which includes a well-supported summer research program. We have just moved into a new state-of-the-art laboratory facility with committed space for teaching and research. The department offers B.S. degrees in Chemistry, Biology-Chemistry, and Environmental Science. The latter two degrees are offered in cooperation with the Biology Department.
